The 9th annual Washington Capitals Youth Hockey Shootout Preliminary Round has come to a conclusions and the Piedmont Predators want to congratulate our players who have made it to the Semi-Final Round. Qualifying again this year, is last year’s Squirt all around winner, goalie, Daniel Daggett. Joining him for the 10U semi-final round will be shooters, Vinney Lowery and Reilly Duke, as well as goalie, Hunter Bauer. Qualifying in the 8U division is goalie, Jake Fisher. Representing Piedmont in the 12U division will be goalie, Bella Gould.
Every summer the Washington Capitals host this free competition, where the preliminary round is held at 6 rinks in Virginia and Maryland. This event allows youth players to show off their skills and compete to be the top shooter and goalie in their age bracket. Shooters and goalies compete in their state of residence, however only the top 3 shooters and 2 goalies per age bracket from each preliminary round move on the semi-final round. At Kettler, only the top goalie and shooter from each state will go on to compete in the finals at the Verizon Center.
Those interested in cheering on our Predator semi-finalists can attend this free event at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex on Sunday September 18th, 2016. 8U will begin at 1:00, 10U will begin at 2:15, 12U will begin at 3:45 and the high school division begins at 5:00.
