The Piedmont Girls 19U team won the Potomac Valley Amateur Hockey Association (PVAHA) playoff, championship held at the St. James Ice Arena on 10-12 Feb 2023.  The Predators lost the first game to Tri City 4-3 in a shootout, despite a hat trick from Autumn Frear and three assists from Zaneta Kocourkova but rebounded to win the next two against Montgomery (12-2) and Reston (9-0).  11 different Predators scored against Montgomery, with Madison Lucas scoring two and Kocourkova chipping in another four assists.  Frear had another hat trick against Reston, and Hope Dondero and Emily Permut had two goals each.  Goalie Maggie Cowden pitched the shutout.  The team then beat Tri City 4-3 in the championship game rematch, with Frear netting her third hat trick of the weekend, Ella Phillips assisting on two goals, and Liz Moller getting the win in net.  This was the third consecutive victory in this event for most of the players and resulted in an invitation to the Southeast District Championships in Florida in March.
