Beginning with the change in title, the 2018-2019 House/Rec/CCHL program specifics and registration are now available on this site. You will find that the 6U and 8U groups now have their own tab; the 6U group will have a strong group of young skaters and the 8U group has added power skating skill training as an integral feature; 8U/Mite tournament participation at the appropriate skill levels is a voluntary, but highly supported and encouraged, activity. 8U practices begin on September 8th. 6U begins on September 11th.
Age groups 10-18 are now members of the Capital Corridor Hockey League (CCHL), a 17-club competitive league at the house/rec skill level. We will field evenly-matched teams at the 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U levels; our goal is to provide a controlled competitive environment for player development and personal improvement. The 14U and 18U groups will play checking hockey. Player eligibility requirements are included in the CCHL specifics.
House/Rec/CCHL practices begin on Friday, September 7 and continue through late February 2019 with a season-ending league -wide tournament. CCHL league games will begin in mid-October with 6 home and 6 away games to be scheduled.
We have received a heightened level ofinterest in the Piedmont Hockey Club "house" activity for the forthcoming season and anticipate that several age groups may reach maximum registration levels. Early registration is encouraged.
