October Saves is a cancer charity that started in 2014 by Lara Hopewell, mother of 2 Ashburn Xtreme goalies.  After the first season, the charity expanded in to a challenge between the Ashburn Xtreme and the Howard Huskies.  By 2016, the challenge involved all CBHL clubs.  This past season, the charity has expanded across the US and into Canada with over 700 goalies participating from mites, to NCAA to 4 in the NHL raising over $800,000.00 since its inception.

The 2018 October campaign saw Piedmont Predator goalie Jack Trevisan earn the honors of the top money raised.  He raised a whopping $11,584.00, which propelled the Piedmont Hockey Club into the number one club for money raised at $16,127.10

Congratulations to Jack and October Saves!
