Brayden Wade, player for the Piedmont Predator's 10U AA team, won the 2017-2018 Washington Capitals Shootout. Last night between the 2nd and 3rd period of the Caps game versus the Toronto Maple Leafs, Wade scored 3 for 3 on breakaway attempts and has won air fare, hotel, and tickets to the NHL All-Star Game in Tamp Bay, FL January 28, 2018. He will represent the Washington Capitals in shootouts against players from other NHL markets.

Congratulations Brayden!

Additionally, this is the 3rd season that the Caps have used this format. Through the 3 seasons, Piedmont players have fared extremely well in this competition. Each year, 1 goalie and 1 shooter are selected. This season Brayden won as the shooter. The 2016-2017 season was a clean sweep for Piedmont as Daniel Daggett (goalie) and Vincent Lowery (shooter) took down the honors. And 2015-2016 Daniel Daggett also won the competition.
