MITE SKY WINS A DIVISION AT ICE WORKS MID-WINTER CLASSIC

Over the Christmas Holiday, 5 Predator Mites and 2 guest players from Montgomery, MD ventured north to Aston, PA where they won the IceWorks Half Ice Mid-Winter Classic. During the 4 game tournament, the Predators outscored their opponents by a total of 67-31.
 
In their opening match against the Central Penn Panthers, goalie Jake Fisher almost secured his first shutout as the Predators prevailed 23-1. Offensively, Quinn McKenzie and Quentin O’Connor lead the Predators as they each secured hat tricks in this dominating performance. 
 
In their second game, the Predators found themselves tied 6-6 at the half with Flyers Youth. Ultimately the Predators would prevail 15-10 after a spirited halftime speech from Coach Mike Whitlock. In this game, it was Brayden Wade who discovered his offensive touch with a 3 goal and 2 assist performance. 
 
Day 2 of the tournament brought their toughest match-up as the Predators overcame a 5-2 deficit to beat the Delco Phantoms Purple 12-10. Stellar defense provided by Mason Monroe allowed for a hard fought comeback victory.
 
In the championship match, the Predators were set for a rematch with Flyers Youth. With Alex Whitlock leading the way with 5 goals and 1 assist, the Predators would come away victorious 17-10.
 
 
The outstanding contributions of Francisco Cisneros and Lahsen Benyoussef cannot be overlooked. The hustle and determination they brought helped steady a Predator team featuring a lineup with only 7 skaters.
