The Piedmont Predator Squirt Navy team, composed entirely of 2006 birth year players, traveled to compete in the Boston Challenge Cup July 31 - August 2.  With 4 weeks of preparation, the team focused on hockey fundamentals with plenty of skating, passing, and shooting, incorporating good team play consistent with the club motto of DEVELOP – STRIVE – COMPETE.  In this tournament, they would be facing AAA 2006 teams from Canada, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine.

In the first game the team continued its mantra of “high motor” and beat Prince Edward Island, Canada 8-0.  Game 2, saw the team tie a tough New England Freezers team, 4-4.  In game 3 the team defeated the New Hampshire Noreasters, 8-0.

The first round of the playoffs gave the team a rematch against the Freezers team they had tied previously.  Unlike the first game, the Predators gained a dominating 8-2 win.  In the championship game, they faced the Premier Hockey Selects.  With another outstanding performance, the Predators jumped out to a 4-0 lead and finished with a 6-2 win, thus earning the first AAA tournament championship in the history of the Piedmont Hockey Club.

With a core group of players who have played for Piedmont for more than 4 seasons, this group of talented players has a bright future ahead of them.  Led by coaches Chuck Robinson, John Duke, and Rob Davis, the team is comprised of Daniel Daggett (G), Brody Davis, Reilly Duke, Garrett Frazer, Vincent Lowery, Brian McInnis, Hunter Raffert, Brendan Robinson, Spencer Rose, Sam Roteman, Luke Schaefer, and Aiden Starr.
