Piedmont Hockey Club Joins the Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League

Starting this 2014-2015 season, the Piedmont Hockey Club will be a member of the Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League (EJEPL).  This league membership will be in addition to the club’s membership in the Chesapeake Bay Hockey League (CBHL).  For the 2014-2015 season, all Predator travel teams will participate in CBHL league play, without any playoff restrictions.  In addition to the CBHL, the Bantam Sky team will play a 16 game EJEPL league schedule while the U16 Elite team will play a 20 game EJEPL league schedule.

The Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League consists of top Tier I and Tier II teams such as New York Apple Core, Richmond Generals, Philadelphia Little Flyers, Long Island Royals, Boston Bandits, Philadelphia Revolution, New Jersey Titans, New Hampshire Junior Monarchs, Rhode Island Hitmen, Igloo Jaguars, Long Island Arrows, Connecticut Oilers, Northern Cyclones, Connecticut Chiefs, Clifton Park Dynamo, and Greater New York Stars.

“Membership in the EJEPL will set our program apart from other local clubs,” commented Piedmont Executive Director Ron Evans.  “Our players will be competing against top teams on the East Coast, including Tier I opponents, furthering their team and individual development.”

Most of the EJEPL games will be in the form of regional showcases that will take the place of tournaments, creating less travel than would be expected for this type of opportunity.  The EJEPL has U18 and U16 levels and, starting the 2014-2015 season, will add U14, U13, and U12 divisions.  The league will include an all-star jamboree, playoffs, professional web site, professional stats management, coverage in the Junior Hockey News, and end of season awards.

“This will definitely be a very unique opportunity for our players,” continued Evans.  “With tryouts starting this week, we felt it was the best decision for our program.”

The specifications for our U16 Elite and Bantam Sky teams have been adjusted to reflect this change.
