When you think of an outdoor rink tournament, you plan for cold weather and snow but the Piedmont Predators 8U Sky team was met with 57 degrees in York, Pennsylvania for their first game.  While the ice was not ideal with melting puddles that the team had to use their skates to occasionally 'kick' the puck out of, they came out with a win.  The weekend continued in this fashion with sloppy ice conditions but the boys came on strong winning all of their qualifying games.  Imagine their surprise on Sunday morning when it was snowing and they had to face the championship game in a complete reverse of weather conditions!  The 8u Sky team came out determined to fight hard for the trophy and came out hot winning the game 14-2.

William "the Wall" Durrett, the 8U Sky team goalie, often found himself soaking wet when making his saves and landing in a puddle of water that surrounded each goal brought our team the defensive goaltending needed to bring each game home with a win. With some great breakaways and passing combinations by the team, tournament high scorers were: Xander Ball, Mason Glassman, Alex McGee and Theo Bardis.  Defensive player of the tournament was awarded to Holston Graham for his ability to save breakaway plays from the opposing team. All members of the team were able to put a puck in the opposing team's net and steal forward movement from the opposing teams, ensuring solid offensive and defensive postures by Liam Buckley, Declan Long, Steaven Irving III, and Wyatt Martin.

On the bench the team was led by coaches Paul Martin, Sean Buckley and Jon Graham.
